The Plucky Squire is a sweet and fun little adventure, creatively switching your perspective back and forth from a 2D cartoon picture book to a realistic 3D environment. It’s fun enough to go from level to level, solving the little puzzles and progressing through the story, but the game lacks substance. The story is uninspiring, the combat is really basic and repetitive, and the pacing has issues, constantly stopping your momentum with irrelevant text and walking/camera panning cutscenes. It’s still a pretty good time though, and I enjoyed the minigame segments (especially with the mouse).
