The Last of Us is a masterpiece that set a new standard for storytelling in games, showing the world that video games were capable of cinematic storytelling as profound and impressive as even the best films and TV shows. Joel and Ellie, as well as the heartfelt relationship they meticulously develop, are expertly written and depicted, while being accompanied by incredible set pieces, deep/thought provoking story developments, gorgeous visuals, a beautiful soundtrack, and amazing gameplay filled with countless immersive/realistic mechanics.
This game means so much to me, as do both Joel and Ellie, who’ll always have a special place in my heart.
