Scholar’s mate is an incredibly disappointing horror game that provides very little worthwhile content. The story and writing are both incredibly lackluster, the scares are anything but, and the level design consists of two tiny floors of a building, forcing the player to repeatedly move back and forth between them, creating an annoyingly repetitive experience. The enemy that looks for you throughout the game is dull, more along the lines of a cumbersome roadblock than a terrifying hunter (with a shitty kill animation, too). Some of the puzzles weren’t too bad, but overall, not a game that’s worth your time.
