Resident Evil 4 (Remake)

Resident Evil 4 is a brilliant remake, improving on nearly every aspect of the original.

The graphics and visuals are utterly stunning, capturing the village and its monstrous inhabitants beautifully (Leon and Ada look incredible too), and the gameplay is phenomenal, providing some of the most fun action I’ve ever played. The story itself is vastly improved too, offering far better dialogue and writing than the original, and the boss battles are incredibly tense, cinematic, and engaging, especially Krauser’s knife battle. The whole game is the epitome of peak action horror, allowing you to tear through hordes of dangerous and terrifying enemies while only minimally reducing the impact of the horror elements.

The campaign is pretty long, too, while still managing to keep the pacing tight. Phenomenal game, and a perfect remake.
