Red matter 2 builds on the original, delivering an experience far more visually stunning than the first, while simultaneously introducing combat that’s fun and fluid. The experience as a whole, however, isn’t necessarily more enjoyable than the first, as the puzzles and the pacing are both downgraded versions of their predecessor.
The puzzles are often tedious and occasionally frustrating, and things tend to drag as the game progresses. The story, however, is vastly Improved, and even without mentioning the cool combat they’ve added, the visuals alone make this game worth playing. I spent upwards of ten minutes staring in awe at the sights upon my arrival at the meteoroid orbiting Saturn (the depiction of its rings totally blew me away).
The production quality of this game far surpasses the first, but it’s hard to say which is the better game/better experience. Both are well worth your time, though, and very good games in their own right.
Is It Worth Playing ?
Yes.
