Night at the Gates of Hell is an incredible retro-horror adventure, brimming with tension and charm alike.
Every location you’re thrust into is a pleasure to navigate, from the terrifying apartments you start in to the beautifully dreadful semi open-world town. The atmosphere is oppressive, the gunplay is oddly fun and satisfying, the jumpscares are insanely effective, the characters are funny, and the various side stories found within all the locations, told through notes and environmental storytelling, are dreadfully gripping.
The game’s creativity consistently shines through the entire playthrough, creating a beautiful PS1 style horror adventure. Love this game.
