Sparking zero is a beautiful callback to the Tenkaichi series, bringing us nearly everything fans have wanted from a sequel for over a decade.
The game is visually beautiful, the roster is enormous, and all the moves look amazing (with the exception of just a few of the rushes, that look a little bit stiff). The combat system is a little shallow, lacking in depth and variety while opting to focus more on style than substance; but that’s okay. A casual experience is just as valid as a deeper and more complex one, even if it leaves a little to be desired in terms of replayability and competitive viability. The story mode is a bit underwhelming, but the what if scenarios are fun and original.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for the modern day equivalent of the Tenakichi games to play with your friends, there is no better alternative than Sparking Zero. They knocked it out of the park.
Is It Worth Playing ?
If you enjoy fighting games, definitely.
