Spiderman 2 improves on just about every single aspect of the original.
The combat is much more fluid and refined, the pacing of the story keeps you enthralled the entire time, the missions are far more engaging, and the set pieces are beyond incredible, immersing you in the action flawlessly. Kraven is an excellent villain, and every encounter with him feels harrowing. Peter’s gradual descent into madness is really well executed, showcasing his corruption perfectly, from his dialogue to his gameplay. They did an amazing job making you feel powerful and badass when you get to play as venom, and the MJ missions are actually a lot of fun this time around. The height of Spider-Man 2’s emotional beats are slightly less impactful than the climax of Spider-Man 2018, but they’re impactful nonetheless.
