Detroit: Become Human

Detroit Become Human is one of the most incredible interactive drama games I’ve ever played, beautifully crafting a deeply personal and wildly ambitious story that touches on morality and humanity in really cool ways.

The writing is occasionally a little on the nose when it comes to the grander themes, but the character writing is excellent, meticulously forging some excellent development and dynamics. The relationship between Connor and Hank is one of the most well written and heartbreaking bonds I’ve ever experienced in a game, playing off each other perfectly while continuously influencing each others own personal development in genuinely profound ways. Every scene that features Connor and Hank interacting with one another really blew me away.

Kara and her relationship with Alice and Luther was beautifully heartfelt (and possibly devastating), complementing Connor’s segments and relationships well. Marcus felt a little more like a vessel for the plot than a truly fleshed out character, but the decisions to be made in his scenes were monumental, shifting the story in massive ways that leave you wondering whether you’re ever doing the right thing. The visuals are absolutely gorgeous as well, and the QuickTime events were genuinely a good time.

Absolutely love this incredible game.

Is It Worth Playing ?
