Call of Duty: World at War

World at War is an exceptional and groundbreaking entry to the series, far surpassing every single one of its predecessors.

The campaign is brutally immersive, throwing you into World War 2 in a way that masterfully exemplifies the hellish conditions soldiers were exposed to. It’s dark, it’s drenched in shades of gray, and it’s exhilarating. The final few minutes of the campaign are still, to this day, some of the most emotional and impactful of the entire series.

The multiplayer introduces some of the greatest maps we’ve seen, and the gunplay is beyond excellent. Every weapon feels incredibly satisfying to use, and the animations corresponding to each of them were absolutely incredible at the time.

The greatest asset of this game, though, is its zombies mode; World At War created a titan of a game mode that completely revolutionized the COD games that followed. The first zombies map was unbelievably addictive in its simplistic premise and gameplay, and each additional map that followed introduced fantastic new mechanics that literally and figuratively changed the game, over and over again. Each map brought its own beautifully haunting atmosphere as well, which, when combined with its excellent gameplay, made it an absolute pleasure to sink countless hours into.

Absolutely love this game.

Is It Worth Playing ?

Absolutely.
