Resident evil 3 remake builds on the incredible engine/mechanics of RE2R, delivering engaging action
and absolutely incredible cinematic sequences with Nemesis; however, it has a lot less to offer as an experience than the resident evil 2 remake did, while also having segments of its original counterpart cut out. Analyzing both those games forces Resident Evil 3’s shortcomings to reveal themselves.
The horror, the puzzles, the writing, and the exploration opportunities are lesser than they were in both mentioned games, and in retrospect, a lot of the game’s progression feels rushed, failing to build on its own suspense and world building in the ways its predecessors did; however, in a vacuum/as a game on its own, Resident Evil 3 is amazing. The action is incredible, the set pieces are fantastic, and the environmental detail and horror is excellent.
If you’re not focusing on where the game falls short, you’re bound to have an amazing time.
Is It Worth Playing ?
Absolutely.
